Paper Made From Mulberry Trees
Papermaking was originally invented in China in the 1st century BCE. From then on, China has been a major player in the crafting and import of paper all over the world, however, betrayal ruined their monopoly over it. In the 6th century AD, China invaded Central Asia and the ruler of Samarkand, the old capital city of Uzbekistan defeated them and held many chinese soldiers as prisoners. The legend goes that they were given a chance to save their lives, the prisoners betrayed their country and gave the secret of paper and silk making to the Uzbeks. This is why silk and paper are now one of the major commodities traded by Uzbekistan.
